The woman behind Eurotech Design

Since 2017, Eurotech Design's Managing Director has been Sophia Bristow, who was 15 when her family moved from China to New Zealand. Having earned a Bachelor of Management Studies with Honours from the University of Waikato, Bristow worked her way up the ladder in the Westpac Group, beginning as a teller before rising to positions such as relationship officer and credit analyst.

Following her time at Westpac, Bristow continued to work in the financial industry, spending several years at the New Zealand Superannuation Fund in risk management and portfolio intelligence. Bristow believes this background helps bring new ideas and innovative solutions to her role as Managing Director of Eurotech. Along with supporting the team as a whole, she also enjoys helping to further the development of team members as individuals. In her role as a senior leader, Bristow exemplifies the ability of migrant women to break down barriers and promote representation in the business community.

A specialist in the importation and distribution of whiteware, with more than 200 authorised dealers around the country, Eurotech is a New Zealand-owned company that Bristow says aims to deliver exceptional value while minimising its carbon footprint. As well as environmental concerns, a major focus of the Eurotech team is establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with both customers and suppliers. International brands distributed by Eurotech include Sub-Zero & Wolf, an American manufacturer of premium kitchen appliances. Since 2020, Eurotech has also worked in partnership with the Interior Awards, which celebrates locally designed projects that further the development of interior and spatial design.
